It's unknown exactly why Hunter and Bobbi got divorced, but Hunter mentioned it was because Bobbi always put S.H.I.E.L.D. before him. Also, it drove Hunter crazy how many secrets Bobbi kept him from him, although Bobbi swears she never lied to him. During the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hydra sent an encrypted message out across all S.H.I.E.L.D. communication channels activating all Hydra agents within S.H.I.E.L.D. Hydra was determined to kill every S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and take control of every S.H.I.E.L.D. facility. Director Fury gave Bobbi a mission to rescue Robert Gonzales from a S.H.I.E.L.D. ship, The Iliad, along with Izzy. Bobbi and Izzy found Mack and the three of them found Gonzales in the ship's conference room with a broken leg.

It was then Bobbi revealed Fury had given her a second mission to insert a disc into the ship's server core which would simultaneously detonate every weapon aboard the ship thereby sinking it. The Monolith was in the ship's cargo hold and Fury rather it be destroyed than let Hydra have it. Mack and Gonzales agreed to help Bobbi with her mission. but when they reached the ship's server core Bobbi has a change of heart. Bobbi realized that if she sank the ship they'd be killing all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents still aboard and fighting Hydra. Bobbi, Gonzales, Izzy, and Mack then decided to go against Fury's orders and retake The Iliad, and, against all odds, they succeeded.
Coulson arrives posing as a consultant for the A.T.C.U. and informs them both of an escape plan. However, Bobbi and Hunter refuse to go through with Coulson’s plan as it would put all of S.H.I.E.L.D. at risk and they’ve both agreed to sacrifice themselves to save S.H.I.E.L.D. Coulson and President Ellis convinced the Russian prime minister to let Bobbi and Hunter go free, but they were both disavowed from S.H.I.E.L.D. and could never work for another spy organization ever again.
Weapons
- Battle Staves : Bobbi's weapon of choice is a pair of metal poles or battle staves which she is rarely seen without. Each stave has a taser at the end which can use to electrocute an opponent with. Bobbi, also, wears a pair of magnetic bracelets on her forearms that allow her to call back her staves after they're thrown.
