He was saved by S.H.I.E.L.D. and reached a new deal where he was cleared of all charges, but with the condition that all of his research was submitted for approval and oversight. However, Radcliffe had secretly begun working on Life-Model Decoys with Leo Fitz. Upon reading the Darkhold, Radcliffe became corrupted as it gave him the desire to use the book, putting into motion a plan to steal it using his creation Aida and an LMD of Melinda May as pawns. When the team found out about his corruption, he formed a new alliance with the Watchdogs. Ultimately, Radcliffe could not keep Aida under control, as she killed him, trapping his consciousness inside the Framework. Within the digital world, he watched as Aida twisted his ideas to make a world ruled by HYDRA. Seeing all his mistakes, Radcliffe helped his former allies return to the real world, to try and make up for his actions. As the Framework was being deleted by a crazed Aida, Radcliffe was deleted alongside it.

Radcliffe is also shown to be prone to humor and irony, for instance joking about the grunting Primitives and their low intellectual abilities or Glenn Talbot's mustache. His curiosity had him helping Hive find a way to create Inhuman genes inside of humans, which had the risk of being catastrophic because he wanted to discover the truth about Inhumans. However, he was very willing to atone for his mistakes by aiding S.H.I.E.L.D. After this, he started to form a father-like relationship with Leo Fitz and grew to care deeply about the safety of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
Abilities
- Enhanced Sight : Radcliffe replaced his right eye with a synthetic prosthesis based on a bird's, granting him an enhanced vision, as part of his beliefs in applying science to follow the discipline of transhumanism.
- Master Scientist : He is a scientific genius. He was able to help Hive use Kree DNA to create an army of Primitives. One of his greatest achievements is the recreation of Life-Model Decoys which are programmed to be loyal to him and to mimic human behavior. His latest creation is the Framework, which stores a digital copy of the consciousness in an artificial reality inside the Framework's digital network.

- Transhumanists are a group of humans that have evolved their bodies through cybernetic enhancements, were previously prohibited from meeting publicly, under the communist regime of the Romania. It's only recently that Transhumanists have come out from meeting in each other's basements and secret locations for more public conventions and social gatherings.
- While Hive, a powerful parasitic Inhuman was attempting to force the entire human race to evolve into semi-Inhuman creatures, agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. sought help from a scientist known as Holden Radcliffe. In attempts to contact Radcliffe, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons were sent to infiltrate a social convention for emerging technologies, organized and frequented by many Transhumanists.
- At the convention in Bucharest, Fitz and Simmons went undercover as experimental geneticists looking to sell a new form of optic technology to Radcliffe. Unfortunately, the mission went south, as Fitz and Simmons were intercepted by Hive and other infected Inhumans. Hive left, taking Radcliffe with them.

- GT Agrochemical is a Transia Corporation subsidiary agrochemical company manufacturing chemicals such as GMOs and pesticides. Inside the most technologically advanced division of the company, the employees of GT Agrochemical of a facilty located in Michigan studied invasive species, including birds and bugs, and genetically engineered crops and animals which could resist these species.
- Holden Radcliffe used to work for GT Agrochemical until his irregular transhumanist experiments where discovered by his coworkers. As a result, Radcliffe was fired from the company.
- Under Hive's command, Giyera led a team of HYDRA agents to a GT Agrochemical Facility in Michigan where they seized research data and equipment and destroyed the rest. S.H.I.E.L.D. was alerted of the attack and sent a team of its own led by Phil Coulson. After a brutal fight against Melinda May, Giyera was arrested and taken into the Zephyr One.

- Transia Corporation is a technology company acquired by Gideon Malick, manufactured the nerved-wire interface which was used in Phil Coulson's Prosthetic Hand. It also worked on an exoskeleton providing enhanced strength to its user.
- Having learned about the Transia Corporation Exoskeleton, the ancient Inhuman Hive convinced HYDRA leader Gideon Malick to purchase the whole company and seize its technology. Hive and Malick met with Transia's board of advisors and chairman Rowan Hamilton. At first, Hamilton refused to sell the company, but Hive quickly made him change his mind by having Charles Hinton triggering a vision of Hamilton's colleagues perishing at the hands of Hive.
- Terrified by the vision, Hamilton agreed to the transaction, but Hive killed his advisors nonetheless. The HYDRA operatives then took over the Transia Corporation Building and brought the Exoskeleton to Hive and Malick. Hive instructed Malick to put the exoskeleton on so that he could experience true power. Malick complied and use the power of the exoskeleton to execute Hamilton with his bare hands.
- However, S.H.I.E.L.D. knew of HYDRA's interest for Transia Corporation and, thanks to a vision provided to Daisy Johnson by Charles Hinton, they also knew of an impending battle between S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA. Therefore, a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents including Daisy Johnson, Lincoln Campbell and Phil Coulson infiltrated the Transia Corporation Building in order to set Hinton free and stop the HYDRA leaders, including Hive who they had discovered about. Despite their best efforts, however, both Hive and Gideon Malick managed to escape, although the Transia Corporation Exoskeleton was damaged in the fight between Malick and Johnson. Following the death of Gideon Malick at the hands of Daisy Johnson while she was swayed by Hive, Transia Corporation elected and announced a new Interim CEO on April 28, 2016.
