Dr. Linda Martin

Linda Martin is a therapist living in Los Angeles. Lucifer Morningstar, the former ruler of Hell, goes to see her as his therapist, previously in exchange for sex, until she was reminded of the ethics of her job. Linda attended medical school before becoming a therapist.

This likely means that she is a psychiatrist, a medical doctor who has completed a residency in psychiatric medicine. To pay for med school, she worked as a phone sex operator, later calling it "1-800-ProfessorFeelGood". She was married to Reese Getty but had been separated from him for approximately two years when she met Lucifer. The pair finalized their divorced sometime during the first season. In "Pilot", Linda was the therapist of Delilah. She told Lucifer and Chloe about Delilah's relationship with a famous celebrity in exchange for sex with Lucifer. She suggests that a person could be the reason for his change of character. Maze told Amenadiel about Lucifer confiding in Linda, and the latter starts to get close to her in order to find a way to convince Lucifer to go back to Hell.

Linda pressures Lucifer to tell her the truth and to drop the Biblical metaphors. He decides to show her his true appearance, revealing himself as the actual Devil. The episode ends with Linda in shock, frozen in place, while a dejected Lucifer leaves her office. During "Trip to Stabby Town", Linda pesters Lucifer with questions about Hell as he remarks on her new change in behavior. Linda states she can't believe the devil is her patient and that Maze told her to be open minded.

Reese Getty was a senior reporter at the Los Angeles Telegraph and the ex-husband of Linda Martin. Reese Getty was a senior reporter at the Los Angeles Telegraph. During his time there, he had won the Pulitzer Prize. His work interfered with his marriage to Linda Martin and they separated. However, Reese desperately wanted to work out their issues and get back together. Some time during season 1, Reese found out that Lucifer was sleeping with his wife. Even though he and Linda had been separated for two years, he wanted revenge on Lucifer. He accidentally sees Lucifer's devil face and tries to tell Linda that Lucifer really is the devil. She does not believe him and forces him to sign the divorce papers.

Reese spent the next year trying to find proof that Lucifer is the devil. After a run-in with Lucifer at his office, he decided to test Lucifer's invulnerability. Reese interrupted Linda's therapy session with Lucifer. He shot Lucifer, who remained unharmed. However, by this time, Linda already knew that Lucifer is the devil. Reese was upset by her actually being friends with him and decided to leave, even though Linda tried to make amends with him.

He tries to convince a serial killer to kill Lucifer but the killer decides to kill Reese instead. However, Reese gets the last laugh as he tells the killer he's caught him as police sirens are heard outside the building. Reese tries to stop the killer who fled the office only for Chloe to stop him. The end of his one episode reveals that he was trapped in this loop as a part of his own hell, driven by the guilt Lucifer says actually sends souls to Hell.
