Kotoha Hanaori

Kotoha Hanaori is a clumsy and gentle girl who worked in a bamboo shop and speaks with a Kyoto accent. Very much a crybaby as a child, she is close to her older sister, Mitsuba, who had been training to be Shinken Yellow.

When Mitsuba became ill and unable to serve as Takeru's vassal, Kotoha stepped up to take her place. Kotoha is deeply respectful of Takeru and wants to help him in any way she can. She has rather low self-esteem; she genuinely believes that she is stupid (she claims that the only things that she is proficient at are her swordsmanship and her flute playing) and, despite her teammates' affection for her, often feels that she is a bother to them. She idolizes Mako and strives to become more like her. Kotoha often suggests that if Mitsuba never fell ill, the Shinkengers as a whole would probably be much stronger.

However, her spirits are raised after she receives a letter from Mitsuba, in which Mitsuba says that Kotoha is the true Shinken Yellow. She never wears long pants and prefers to wear short shorts with knee socks. After the final battle, Kotoha returns home to Mitsuba. As Shinken Yellow, she is the Samurai of Earth and can borrow the Inromaru to become Super Shinken Yellow.

While heading to the store to pick up things for his fellow Gosei Angels and Nozomu, Alata finds himself fighting Nanashi and the Ayakashi Madakodama before he receives aid from Shinken Red. However, the fight is witnessed by a mysterious figure as Madakodama falls back. Thinking that Dokoku Chimatsuri has somehow returned, Takeru leaves to recall his vassals while accepting the Gosei Angels' help.

Months after wiping out the last of the Gedoushu, Kotoha fought alongside not only her own team, but every single Sentai ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gormin and their Zgormin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them and gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada.

After the Zangyack's final defeat, Marvelous returned the Ranger Keys to their original owners. It is assumed Kotoha and her team have their powers back once again.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai : Super Hero Taisen

Kotoha, alongside her team (Shinken Gold and Princess Shinken Red were absent), among the majority of the Super Sentai heroes, was caught up in the "Super Hero Taisen" incident which eventually resulted in the Super Sentai teams and Kamen Riders joining forces to defeat both Dai-Zangyack and Dai-Shocker. Ironically, the Shinkengers were acquainted with the Great Leader of Dai-Shocker, Tsukasa Kadoya, also known as Kamen Rider Decade, having encountered him before when he visited their world. During the final battle, she is seen fighting a Shocker Combatman and Arch Orphnoch.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Space Sheriff : Super Hero Taisen Z

Kotoha, having been sent by Gai Ikari, appeared in Space Sheriff Gavan Type-G's spaceship, Dolgiran, to help Geki's assistant Shelly (who shared a resemblence with Kotoha) hack Gavan's Transformation Space System in order for Geki to be able to transform into Gavan Type-G again to battle Space Shocker. Later on, the five-man Shinkenger team appeared as part of a force of Sentai and Rider reinforcements led by Akarenger and Kamen Rider #1 that came to assist the Sentai and Riders of recent years who were overwhelmed by the revived monster army of the Space Crime Syndicate Madou

Shinken Yellowis the title given to one of four retainer families that have served the lord/lady of the Shiba clan, Shinken Red, throughout the generations in the Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. There have been eighteen Shinken Yellows since the formation of the Shinkengers. As Shinken Yellow, Kotoha is the Samurai of Earth and can use the Inromaru by itself to become Super Shinken Yellow.
